          With the increasing spread of the effect of globalization, small entrepreneurs supported by credit unions are facing difficulties in improving their businesses. Today, entrepreneurs are faced with increasing challenge of the brought about by multinational companies penetrating into more remote areas of earth and exploring traditional plants, seeds and other natural products for product development and commercial gain.

          The Business Development Centers (BDCs) for the national umbrella organization of credit unions is seen to be playing a crucial role in developing capacity and access to good market services under the support of ICT as the technology tool such as credit union schemes, market information, business development services, insurance mechanisms, accreditation, quality assurance and trade facilitation. BDCs provide assistance to credit unions, members and micro entrepreneurs enabling them to carry out management and marketing support to current and prospective small business owners who maybe are members or potential members of credit union. BDCs offer one - stop assistance to individuals and small businesses by providing a wide variety of information and guidance in central and easily accessible branch locations.
